My Husband and I met online .. we have both been married before ..both of us were looking for Long Term Relationships .. we have been married since May 1999.

He just got his computer November of 1998 .. I had mine for around 3 years by then ..maybe 4 ..

I put a few ads on personals in dating sites and so did he .. both of us had written to a few people but had not quite found our match yet ..

On January 11, 1999 he emailed me ..I was looking for Only a Sagitarius, Leo, or an Aries Astrology Sun Sign .. that was it .. if others had answered my personals ad .. they and I would only be friends.. (see more on this in Dating Online Advice section of this website).

There were a few from the sign that I had specified .. that had answered .. I had never met or shall I say dated.... an Aries before (that I was aware of) ..and here he was.. he emailed me ..I read his personals ad .. I was interested , so I emailed back .. asked him if he had a picture .. he did and he sent it to me .. I liked what I saw and emailed him back with a picture of me .. He liked what he saw .. and we added each other to our ICQ lists .. by the next day I gave him my phone number.. he called me right away ..We talked for a couple hours .. We would meet online .. email once and awhile .. and he continued to call me daily then ..

I loved those talks we used to have. Long talks getting to know each other. I wanted to be certain that he and I would make a good match before we would meet. Asking him all about what he likes, what he does like, what kinds of things he liked to do on his spare time, about his family and friends, asked him about his job, where he lived, asked him about his kids, about his past marriages, etc....
Some times we would ask each other questions about what we think we would do in different circumstances, how he would react to different things.
What kinds of things he was looking for in a relationship, what things were important to him. I would of course tell him all the things that I expected in a relationship etc also.
Many times we would end up talking for 4-5 hours at a time. (see more on this in Dating Online Advice section of this website)

I remember when I had placed my personals ad, (I wonder if I still have a copy of it somewhere? ) It took me hours to type my ad up .. I wanted to write exactly how I was feeling and what I was really looking for in my match.
I remember I even got a few email responses saying things like. "You will never find a man like that" .. or "who do you want to date GOD ? " or "Good Luck in finding a man like that" .. I would just laugh and delete their emails, knowing full well that THEY were not the ones (see more on this in Dating Online Advice section of this website)

We emailed each other, chatted on ICQ and phoned each other for about a month. Around Valentines Day we started to talk about meeting each other in person.
Not to mention after receiving his phone bill of over $400 he figured it was cheaper for him to fly to see me then it was to continue talking on the phone .. hehehe ..Or else maybe he wanted to meet the person he was spending all that money on phone bills for .. in either case we started to make plans to meet.

We had talked about what we expected when we met. Set some boundaries. (see more on this in Dating Online Advice section of this website) He reassured me that He was not flying there to have a roll in the hay with me, that if we decided to have sex when he got there, it would be my decision and he would abide by my decision and would not pressure me at all. We both agreed that it should be mutual and a natural thing for us to do, if we did have sex.
After talking all the time and getting so close, we both were feeling very deep feelings for each other; I felt that I loved him already before we even met. He felt the same. So, we both had decided that if we had sex, it would be Making Love to each other, not just the action of having sex.

He bought the tickets to fly to my hometown. We both started to prepare for the visit.
I remember being really excited. The night before I was looking in my closet for what on earth I was going to wear when I met him at the airport. The morning of the 11th , I went to the Floral shop and picked up some roses and a bunch of helium balloons, with one of them saying Welcome on it. I hurried home, took a shower and got dressed. I wore a pink blouse and a pair of jeans. The pair that showed my figure off the best. (smiles) It was still winter then so of course I had to wear my winter boots and winter coat. I drove over to my parents house to show them how I looked and asked for their advice. I did not have a belt and wanted to tuck my shirt in, so my Dad (who is now passed away) had given me a belt to wear. I was all set. They of course made me promise that I would bring him by their house to meet him and we planned for him and I to go to there house for lunch the next day also. They also reminded me that they were just a phone call away if I needed them and that I did know how to dial 911 also. (smiles) I gave them both a kiss and hug and told them I would be fine, that I trusted him completely and went to the airport.

The plane had arrived early that day... go figure .. and I had planned on getting there way in advance and for me to be waiting there when the plane flew in .. but that did not happen… I ran inside the small terminal and saw all the passengers coming by me .. I was standing there with the roses in my hand looking for him.. I could not see him anywhere .. I started to worry if I had missed him . There was only a few more people coming through the door from the plane and they were not him. Then I looked over to some of the guys that were coming out of the bathroom area .. and there he was! (smiles) He had come out of the bathroom and was standing there looking at me, smiling. Once he knew I saw him, he walked over to me and gave me a big hug and a kiss. Right then I knew I really loved him, his kiss was so wonderful and feeling his arms around me felt so right! To this day, when he wraps his arms around me and hugs me and holds me, that is when I feel the peace, that wonderful serenity and feeling of safety, that feeling that nothing else in the world matters when I am in his arms. All the hectic schedules of the day, all the negative pressures of the world everyday just go away when we hold each other at night and snuggle. When he gives me a kiss, I know those lips were made to be kissing ME.

He grabbed his bag and we went out to the car. I had all the helium balloons in the back seat. He got a kick out of them. He drove my car to my house. I showed him around my house and made some coffee. We put some music on to listen to and sat on the couch and started to talk. I remember him petting my face, my cheeks, my hair, I loved that feeling.
We held hands and talked and talked.. we were there about an hour and the phone started to ring off the wall…. first my parents called and I promised them we would come over in about an hour, then some of my friends started calling to see if he had made it there and how he was .. (these were my online friends and one local friend called). After all of our interruptions we figured we would head out and have him meet my parents and while we were out buy some groceries for supper.

The meeting with my parents went really well, they really liked him and he was really comfortable with them. All was good there.

We bought some long spaghetti, Ragu, garlic bread, stuff for salad, hamburger and headed home. I had a bottle of champagne in the fridge. He made the supper for us. It was delicious!
We had plans for him to meet my two kids on Friday night so we had the rest of the night alone. (He flew in on Thursday ). We made some more coffee and sat on the couch , listened to music and talked and talked and talked and talked. He had brought some of his favorite music for us to listen to and I had my favorites out to. We both loved the same music, that part was all good. I remember all day, I had to fight the feeling of the sparks that were flying between us (smiles) We stayed up and talked and held each other until we were both getting very tired, we thought we should call it a night. I told him I wanted to go and have a cold shower before we went to bed. but instead we took a shower together and that was the end of restraining ourselves! The sparks flew and we had our first lovemaking session. We were both nervous, but we both felt the love for each other and it felt right. (smiles)

It was great to wake up to him in my arms the next morning! When I woke up, I had a smile on my face and had wondered if it was all a dream. But there he was, right beside me. We had coffee, took a shower, talked awhile and got ready to go to my parents house for lunch. We had a really nice visit and lunch with my parents and my brother had joined us also. So far all was going great!

We went back to the house and talked some more and snuggling all afternoon.
Now it was time to meet my kids. We met the kids at the local pizza place. We ate pizza, played pool and arcade games and visited together. The kids seemed to like him and he loved my kids! We all had a Great time! My son was a senior in school (graduating that year) and my daughter was in 11th grade.

The next day, we were to drive an hour to have brunch with my sister, brother in law, niece, her boyfriend, and her two kids. This was Saturday morning. I was glad that the weather was nice for the drive. Everyone was there when we got there. The food was good and the everyone loved him! He had really gone through the test in just a few short days! We said our good-byes and headed back home. Around 11 miles out of town, out of the blew, he asked me to marry him! Wow, I was floored, I was so surprised! I knew I wanted to say YES .. but waited to answer, I didn't want to seem to anxious (smiles) everything was quiet, he was getting nervous waiting for me to answer, then I turned and said "Yes, I will marry you!" He was relieved, I snuggled next to him gave him a quick kiss, since he was still driving (smiles) I asked him if he was nervous, he said "yes", I started to chuckle, he smiled. We drove into town and stopped at where my son worked, and told him the NEWS. He was happy for us, but told him to take good care of his Mom, he promised to do so and we left. The next stop was to let my parents know. He was on his toes when we told them the news and added that he would take really good care of their daughter. They were delighted. My daughter stopped by the house to get some things for her date and we told her the news. All was good!

The days went so fast! Sunday morning was so hard, he had to get ready to fly out. When he had to board the plane that is when the tears started to fall, he held me and we kissed and kissed and we said our I love you's and I will miss you's he turned and walked out but then he turned back around and came back for another big hug and kiss again. That made me happy! He then turned and walked back out to the plane, I stood there waving and tears flying down my cheeks. I was standing in front of the huge glass looking out to him, I was so sad to see the visit end!

We also started to make wedding plans. Where we would get married, where we would have our honeymoon. Etc.... We planned our wedding date to be May 20th.

I did a lot of searching on the net, for wedding chapels. Found quite a few nice ones, and compared prices and what you got etc plus getting married in May or anytime in the summer in short notice was always fun too, as a lot of the places were getting booked already. We both wanted a May wedding, and I wanted to make sure that there was no void of course moon, the day that we got married..( more details on this in Dating Online Advice section)

We set the date in May around the Void of Course Moons, and I did not make any plans during this time either, I watched the list really careful. So, May 20th is the date. Now where? We tossed Las Vegas around, or maybe CA, or even maybe getting married on a ship on a cruise. That sounded interesting too.
As we started to make plans, the long distance wedding plans were not feasible, because of when my son was going to graduate, my new hubby's vacation time, still having to move my things to his state/ his home and had to fit everything in about a 10 day time frame! So, we found a really nice place in TN. I will post some pictures of our wedding here too.
We chose the Smoky Mountains Memories Wedding Champel

We stayed two nights in a Motel, boy I cannot think of the name of it though. It had heart shaped Jacuzzi tub. Ahhh did I love that!
I am not sure how much it really cost us, but they did a beautiful video for us and took professional pictures for us to remember our wedding for a lifetime! So, our family could watch it and enjoy it too!

So, we set the time, the place and away we go! I had to of course start to pack! I had to get everything all done before April 7th. So, as you can tell, I did not have much time to get things done. March 13th, the day he proposed until April 7th. April 7th, is the day I flew to him, check out his house, and get better acquainted. I got most of the house packed and my Daughter moved to her Dad's house when I left on the 7th. It was a sad day to leave my kids behind, but it was a happy day also, as it was a new start of my new life.

I stayed down there with him then from then on. We went out and bought the engagement, and wedding rings, wedding dress and picked out our music we wanted played at our wedding.

The morning of the 20th, we got up really early around 2:30 - 3 AM to start off to TN.
We had a wonderful trip and talked and laughed all the way down. We got our marriage license in a different town, boy I cannot remember the name???? Anyhow, we were told to go there to get our license on our way to the Chapel so we did. After that, it was a mess! We found the wedding chapel just fine, they said they had a cancellation and wanted us to get married an hour earlier and if we did, they would give us a discount on our wedding package. Well, geesh, I wanted to go to a beauty parlor and get my hair done, and go to the motel to get changed, as we just wore our jeans there! Well, we tried to find our Motel and had a heck of a time, every time we asked someone for directions they would tell us it was way away from where we were heading! One would say, "No, you are going the wrong way, you need to turn around and go back about 5 miles or so." We would turn around and go back and then ask someone else, "No you are on the wrong road, you need to go down this road and that road and turn left here and go right here" Geesh, so we would write it all down and go there! Guess what, it was way the wrong way! We stopped and called the Wedding Chapel and told them about our dilemma. (We did not have any time to waste now, as we did not make it for the hour early wedding so we had to rush just to make it in time for our regular scheduled time! They told us to just hurry back, and get changed there! LOL So away we went back to the Chapel and did not even find the Motel yet!

I don't know if any of you have ever been to Gatlinburg, TN, but you cannot go a block in a short time, with the traffic! We found that out! We were on the way back and the traffic was moving so slow, we just could not believe our luck We had to laugh it was such an ordeal it was ridiculous! We finally made it to the Chapel right at 5:00 the original time we were supposed to get married, but we still had not gotten dressed yet! The people there were so wonderful, we picked out my flower and his boutonniere. I wore a long white and silver dress with a long stem red rose, he wore his blue suit with a red rose boutonniere. We both looked good. The wedding was so beautiful! They preformed a wonderful service for us. They played our music, the pastor had said a wonderful service for us, the photographers were very good. We were pleased. The only thing was they spelled my new hubby'sname wrong on the "Just Married" sign to put on the back of our car LOL. They even gave us some wedding cake to bring home to eat one year from then, for our 1st year anniversary. How nice! After all the pictures were taken and we thanked the staff and the Pastor again for helping us out so much and for the fantastic job they did, we got directions to the Motel again LOL. We had found it and we had passed this Motel several times in our little adventure but the sign was so small we could not read it. :lol plus I suppose we were very nervous and excited about having to rush. Does not pay to Rush especially a wedding, better to just stick to the plans that were done originally! LOL I found my wedding notes and now I know the name of the motel!
We stayed 2 nights in the Victorian Honeymoon Suite with a Heart
shapped jacuzzi. We visited Dollywood.the next day! We had a Great Time!!!!!!
We had a fantastic honeymoon! But now it was time to rush home, check on things at the house and then head back to my home state/ town to see my son graduate! LOL

Here are some wedding pictures!

Oh the memories are so wonderful aren't they? I had a good shape to myself then! That is what I want to do, get down to that size again or smaller!

Now, that is a nice picture of a Happy Couple!
